The final day of class will be Tuesday, December 12th.
Due that day will be:
• A printed book outlining your entire semester’s work, organized as a comprehensive design project case study. It should include and document the major design work you created for the class, and express your design process and approach in solving your complex visual communication problem.
• A web-based pdf book published on issuu.com. Issuu is a web platform that publishers, writers, organizations and individuals used to digitally publish their multiple-page magazines and publications online.
• That same day, you will also present your design project and solution to the class, as well as a possible visiting designer. You may use your printed book, your pdf book, and/or a digitally formatted presentation (pdf, powerpoint, keynote, prezi, etc) to aid you in your presentation. You should create a brief content outline for your presentation and choregraph what you will say with what you will visually present. It is suggested that you practice your presentation at least twice before the actual event to boost you self-confident and ensure a successful delivery.
Book Design Content
The purpose of the comprehensive project case-study book is to document and express your design process and approach in solving your complex visual communication problem. The book’s content should be organized, well-written and structured as a message. You might set-up the context of the story of your design journey by writing a problem-solution statement for the overall project identifying you as a designer, your client as an organizaton with a need to communicate a particular message to help empower a particular audience for a particular purpose. Then follow-through with the story of how you created your successful comprehensive design solution.
It should include and document the major design work you created for the class including:
- Your Client’s (Sender) Identity
- Your Designer Identity
- Your Empowerment Design Project
- Your Comprehensive Design Projects
